PTO IMPACT

PTO funding bridges the gap between what funding is actually available and an alternate source of financial support for our school. By contributing to the PTO, you are creating a channel of private funding to meet our teachers’ and students’ needs. All of the money the PTO raises goes directly back to Cumberland, and as part of the PTO, parents get to work with teachers and school administration to say where and how those funds are spent.

 

The impact of the PTO reaches beyond monetary support. Numerous studies have demonstrated the positive effects parental involvement has for young children, including academic and language skills, and social competence. Research aside, seeing you at school or knowing you’re involved with what’s going on at school demonstrates to your children that you care about what’s going on in their lives outside of your home, that they matter, that school matters and is important and worthy of your time and energy.

How to Support the PTO

1. Become a PTO Member

With your help, we will  make an impact this year advocating for our students, teachers, and school. Your membership fee helps support a variety of school activities & comprises of almost half of our organization's budget. The annual PTO membership fee is $20. With your membership, you get access to the cougar caller. The Cougar Caller is an online family directory. By becoming a member, there is no obligation to volunteer or attend monthly meetings. 

The Membership Toolkit (MTK) App and accounts are FREE (even if you don't become a member)!  Be sure to add your child(s) current year teacher, so you can receive important room parent & PTO information.

2. Volunteer

We need volunteers to plan and oversee all of our fundraisers, student and staff events throughout the school year. The events aren't possible without volunteers.  Volunteer as little or as much as your schedule allows. 

3. Donate

PTO funds support everything from special disbursements to conference meals for Cumberland Staff Members during Parent Teacher Conferences. Please consider donating!  The more you donate, the more the PTO can support Cumberland students and staff.
